The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis continues to rank among the very best in the U.S., ranking 9th for “Best Anesthesiology Programs” in 2022 by U.S. News & World Report.
“We are delighted to continue to receive recognition from U.S. News & World Report as one of the best residency programs in the country, and even more excited that our continued efforts to improve our program show clearly in these rankings,” says Douglas Thompson, MD, Vice-Chair for Education. “I look forward to watching our program grow and our residents benefit from the incredible opportunities and support offered here at WashU.”
The methodology used to evaluate schools and programs focuses on faculty resources, academic achievements of entering students, and qualitative assessments by schools and residency directors. “This speaks to the breadth and depth of our program, and its dedication to providing physicians with the best residency training available,” says Allison Mitchell, MD, Director for Residency Program.
