Seven Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) have been named finalists for the prestigious March of Dimes Heroes in Action 2024 awards. Chosen for their outstanding contributions to nursing and healthcare, these individuals exemplify an unwavering commitment to patient care and excellence in their fields.
The Nurse Anesthesia Program at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing has once again proven its excellence, securing the eleventh spot in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Nursing Anesthesia Schools. This recognition highlights the program’s commitment to providing top-tier education and training for aspiring Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
St. Louis Magazine’s 15th annual Excellence in Nursing Awards, presented by BJC HealthCare and Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, has announced finalists for the 2024 awards, including three outstanding Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) from the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis: Erin Herrera, MSN, CRNA, Elvira Sayfutdinova, MSN, CRNA, and Kate Silver, CRNA.

Bernadette Henrichs, PhD, CRNA, CCRN, CHSE, FAANA, FAAN, a professor and director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing, was inducted into American Academy of Nursing’s 2023 class of fellows at the academy’s annual Health Policy Conference on October 7 in Washington, D.C. This prestigious recognition celebrates Dr. Henrichs’ achievements and contributions to the field of nursing, in addition to her commitment to advancing public health.
The Department of Anesthesiology is thrilled to announce the appointment of Abby Bisch, DNP, CRNA, and Elvira Sayfutdinova, MSN, CRNA, as the inaugural co-directors of our CRNA Mentorship Program at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Goldfarb School of Nursing, including the nurse anesthesia program, celebrated its commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Powell Symphony Hall. Overall, nine graduates completed their nurse anesthesia education and received a Doctor of Nursing Practice—the first cohort to graduate with a doctoral degree. Congratulations to the entire Class of 2022 Nurse Anesthesia cohort!
