This announcement was sent on behalf of Dr. Michael Avidan.

I am pleased to share that Erin Herrera, CRNA, has been named Co-Director of CRNA Activities for the Department of Anesthesiology at WashU Medicine, joining David Eisenbath, CRNA, in this leadership role.
This change formally recognizes the scope of work that Erin has already been leading in support of our CRNA team. In this capacity, she continues to help guide strategic planning and goal setting for CRNAs across the department, with a focus on clinical excellence, recruitment and retention, mentorship, and professional development. Erin plays a key role in leadership development and contributes to staffing, workforce, and operational planning across WashU Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She also collaborates closely with departmental and hospital leaders to foster a culture of safety and deliver high-quality perioperative care, while promoting communication, engagement, and belonging within the group.
In addition to this role, Erin serves as Associate Vice Chair for Well-Being and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology. A St. Louis native, she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and German from the University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Nursing from Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing, where she later completed the Nurse Anesthesia Program. Erin specializes in cardiothoracic anesthesia and is widely recognized for her leadership, teamwork, and advocacy for the well-being of health care professionals.
I am grateful for Erin’s continued leadership and positive impact on our department and CRNA community.
