We are excited to announce that Dr. York Jiao has accepted the appointment of Director of Anesthesia at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
Dr. Jiao completed his medical training and anesthesiology residency at the University of Connecticut, after which he joined the pediatric anesthesiology division at Washington University for his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Jiao joined the pediatric anesthesiology division, participating in the pain, cath lab, regional, and Shriner’s teams.
He recently won the 2020 Pediatric Anesthesiology Teaching Award, which is voted on by the pediatric anesthesiology fellows. Dr. Jiao has published three journal articles since finishing his fellowship, with another accepted for publication in JAMA. He has an interest in informatics, operations, and machine learning and is a skilled clinician and educator. He will be a great asset to Shriner’s Hospital.
