Lisa Parks receives 2026 Sandy Hawes Memorial Award

The Department of Anesthesiology is honored to announce Lisa Parks as the recipient of the 2026 Sandy Hawes Memorial Award.

Established in memory of Sandy Hawes, this annual award honors department members who exemplify outstanding communication, a supportive and collaborative spirit, professionalism, and a consistent commitment to going above and beyond in service to others. Lisa’s nomination reflects these qualities in every regard, highlighting her exceptional reliability, approachability, and contributions to both colleagues and departmental operations.

Lisa has been an invaluable member of the department for over 8 years. She currently serves as a Division Administrator, supporting a wide range of anesthesia specialties and playing a key role in coordinating operations across multiple clinical and administrative teams. In this role, she has become a central point of connection, helping ensure smooth communication, efficient workflows, and dependable support across divisions.

As one colleague shared, Lisa is widely regarded as the “go-to” person within the department—someone who is consistently approachable, solutions-oriented, and ready to step in wherever needed. Her responsiveness, reliability, and depth of knowledge make her an essential resource across teams and functions.

Lisa’s professionalism and steadfast commitment to supporting others have made a meaningful and lasting impact on both departmental operations and team culture.
